Induction and Transition

Parents as Partners (PAPS) induction days are offered to all new intake pupils at the end of the summer term before they begin in the following September. These information mornings help to ensure that the children’s transition into our school is as smooth as possible and that parents are aware of the school’s expectations
Staff from Ballakermeen meet the year 6 children and discuss their progress with their class teachers. Parents and pupils are invited to an induction evening at Ballakermeen during the Spring term and pupils spend a transition day there in July. Some pupils with additional needs are offered extra Early Bird visits where they go to Ballakemeen with our staff.
