At HBN we are proud of providing a broad and balanced curriculum. We are committed to providing rich and creative experiences which enable our children to develop skills that prepare them for their futures. We offer a wide range of opportunities for children to learn in different ways, catering for a range of learning styles. Our pupils learn to work both independently and collaboratively, developing an understanding of themselves as learners and recognising the ways in which they learn most effectively. We deliver high quality teaching and learning through cross-curricular, thematic activities; an approach that our pupils find engaging and inspiring, thanks to the variety and range of different activities on offer, and which allows them to make connections between the different areas of learning.

At the heart of our curriculum is a firm belief in promoting the dispositions embodied in out GROW attitude. We aim to develop pupils who show:

G - Grit (resilience in their learning)

R - Risk (take risks by challenging themselves and others)

O - Optimism (believe in themselves and see the best in others)

W - Work (have a good work ethic and know that learning can be difficult so you have to work hard).

Our curriculum recognises the growing role of technology in all our lives, and we ensure that our pupils develop the skills to make the best use of this in order to support their learning. We give them ample opportunities to become comfortable, effective users of Information and Communication Technology and to teach them how to use it safely.
