We thought that we would encourage the children to try and remain positive in this very difficult time and put a smile on people’s faces. It has been a fantastic week with lots of smiles and laughs. We decided to compile a ‘positivity’ video outlining what we have been up to whilst at school, to be shared on our school facebook page (we made sure that we got permission form all children’s parents). We hope you enjoy it!
We have made cards and written letters to key workers, written ‘positivity’ acrostic poems and rainbow poems as well as making our own maths 'loop cards’, which the children loved playing! We did observational paintings of daffodils, painted a huge rainbow and did graffiti art in the playground. One of the children’s favourite activities were designing and decorating their own tile. We hope to put these tiles up in the school so that we remember all of the key worker children who came into school during the Covid 19 epidemic. We also loved making ‘positivity’ chatterboxes and posters using Pic Collage.
Forest school and PE were also popular times of the day. Badminton competitions and ‘super hero’ yoga were great fun! To finish off the week we designed our own ‘gelato ice-cream’ flavours and enjoyed our Friday afternoon ‘ice cream’ treat.
The children have all been amazing and the staff have too. A big thank you to Miss Slater, Miss Barlow, Miss Henderson, Mrs Jackson and Mrs Evans who have all thoroughly enjoyed their week at school with the children.
